CVS & Walgreens Chemical Abortion Controversey

       In January of 2023, the Food and Drug Administration offered pharmacies the "opportunity” to fill chemical abortion prescriptions. That’s right, neighborhood pharmacies were invited to join Planned Parenthood in the abortion industry.

       Almost immediately, CVS and Walgreens said yes to obtaining FDA certification to fill prescriptions for the abortion cocktail: mifepristone and misoprostol.

       Lamentably, CVS and Walgreens announced in March of 2024 that they began filling chemical abortion prescriptions. Initially, this was in six states. These deep-blue states were California, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. As of March of 2025, there has been no further expansion.

       As of March 2025. No additional pharmacy chains have joined CVS and Walgreens, despite Democrat pressures. CVS and Walgreens have not moved beyond the initial six states.
       Pro-Life Waco started CVS and Walgreens back in March of 2023. (Pro-Life in the Public Square was created by the leadership team of Pro-Life Waco.) Pro-Life Waco has continued pharmacy protests and chemical abortion education an average of twice per month. CVS and Walgreens made a long-term commitment to killing preborn babies. Pro-Life in the Public Square, with your collaboration, has made a long-term commitment to shining a spotlight on CVS and Walgreens.

       Pro-life pharmacy outreach involves two distinct events occurring simultaneously. One is challenging CVS and Walgreens for committing chemical abortion by prescription. The second is educating our neighbors on chemical abortion. We have produced a fact-filled chemical abortion flyer for distribution to travelers, customers, and employees.

       With two years of pharmacy outreach in Waco, Pro-Life in the Public Square is well-prepared to equip pro-lifers nationwide to engage in pharmacy outreach on a continuing basis. A one-time event would have no chance to impact the pharmacy chains to either back out or stay out.  We offer a free Quick Start Pack to groups and individuals that will join. The goal is to have 100 CVS and Walgreens pharmacies facing at least monthly protests. These chains offer 18,000 stores in America to choose from!

       Let’s work and pray for victory over the evil initiative of CVS and Walgreens and to keep other pharmacy chains on the sidelines. With God’s grace, we work and pray for victories in pharmacy outreach to give our movement a major boost like the lunch counter desegregation movement did for civil rights in the 1960s. ​

       Our prospects for complete protest success have increased significantly with the strong anti-woke initiatives of President Trump. DEI, male participation in women's sports, and corporate support for "pride" initiatives are all crumbling. The same can happen to chemical abortion by pharmacy prescription if we apply the needed pressure from hometowns coast to coast.

       When CVS and Walgreens capitulate, don't look back and think, "I could have been a part of that pro-life movement."
